About Ryno Drone Photography

Ryno Drone Photography is a family-run commercial drone photography and aerial media business based in Devon, serving clients across the South West and travelling further afield for suitable projects.

Led by Ryan Oliver, we provide aerial photography, videography, event media coverage, livestreaming and timelapse projects for businesses, organisations, event organisers and other clients. Our work combines practical experience, specialist equipment and a commitment to safe, responsible operations.

From Photography to Drones

Photography was my first passion, long before I bought a drone. I've always enjoyed capturing moments that others might miss, whether that meant freezing water spray in mid-air, photographing the intensity of motorsport or documenting fast-paced sporting events.

My interest in drones developed over several years, and with support from my family, I bought my first drone in 2021. What began as a hobby soon became an opportunity to combine my photography background with a completely new perspective.

Qualifications, Safety and Professionalism

Professional drone operations require more than good equipment and an eye for a photograph. I hold the A2 Certificate of Competency (A2 CofC) and General Visual Line of Sight Certificate (GVC), and operate in accordance with applicable UK aviation requirements.

Our work is supported by appropriate insurance, careful flight planning and consideration of the location, conditions and requirements of each project. Where appropriate, a trained observer assists with operational awareness and safety.

A Family-Run Business.

Although I remain the lead drone operator, editor and main point of contact, family support is an important part of Ryno Drone Photography.

My mum regularly assists as an observer and qualified drone operator during operations, while my brother typically manages live streams while I'm flying at events or helps run the stalls at local markets where we sell our photography prints. This family involvement helps us support projects while keeping a personal approach to customer service.

We've also worked with organisations including Devon Air Ambulance, Driving Dynamix, Exeter Round Table, RNLI Teignmouth, as well as local businesses, charities and private clients.

Looking Ahead

Motorsport remains a personal passion, but Ryno Drone Photography works across a wider range of commercial and creative projects. Our focus includes aerial media, event coverage, livestreaming, promotional content and timelapse work, with ground-based photography and videography available for suitable projects.

Our aim is straightforward: to provide high-quality imagery, reliable service and distinctive perspectives that help clients tell their stories from the ground and the air.
